By Real Bride Jessica
“Danja contacted me a couple months ago about shooting together at Palo Duro Canyon. She had told me she wanted to build her portfolio for Texas. I was so excited to start planning this shoot, but little did I know I wasn’t actually planning a western fashion shoot. Danja and my boyfriend had teamed up together to plan my surprise engagement!
Georgio’s Bridal told me they were willing to supply a bridal gown for one of the four outfits we were planning. I was over the moon excited! We wanted an elegant western/boho vibe, right at sunset! This dress nailed the look and of course the Old Gringo Boots just topped it off.
The sun started going down so Danja rushed me to change into my dress for the romantic “couples shoot”. Jake (my boyfriend), lead me out onto this beautiful rock bluff that overlooked the entire canyon. Where he had previously carved in the rock “WYMM” (Will You Marry Me), a couple of months prior when we had visited the canyon. That is where he proposed. Soon after, I found out my family had driven 8 hours for the surprise proposal! Talk about complete shock!
Putting together styled shoots is something I’d never dreamed I’d be able to do, but I love it! Creating new ideas and meeting new peoples is the best part of it all! I styled all 4 of the looks myself. I’m sure the mail lady thought I was a crazy person with all the boxes being delivered to my door but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
