By Real Bride, Katy Adams
From the moment we saw Katy’s wedding photos, we KNEW we had to share them with you… If you haven’t gushed over them already! Not only was her intimate wedding beautiful, so is their love story. Try not to get the goose bumps, dare you.
“Austin and I met in Stephenville Texas when we were 18 years old. He invited me on a horse ride on his families ranch when I told him I had a young horse that really needed to be rode out. From that moment on Austin and I always had sparks but the quote “timing in everything” really was key for us. We both just had to much going on at that time for it to work. Fast forward 11 years…. one day Austin messaged me and asked me to come hang out with him. He was moving home to Nevada in 4 days and this was our last Chance. He ended up asking me to help him drive back to Nevada with his stuff. I jumped in the truck and 36 hours later we were standing at chapel in Las Vegas saying “I Do”! Our parents have never met, he didn’t know much about each other at all really…. we just knew it was now or never!
Since we took such a leap of faith we decided to wait until our 1 year anniversary to have a “real wedding”. We got married on one of his families ranches outside of Las Vegas in the tiny town we called home. Logandale Nevada. It sits right in the middle of the red rocks that surround the Valley Of Fire. It was an old Arabian horse farm furnished with chandlers all the way down the stall alleys and big beautiful glass doors. It had been vacant for awhile so it took some scrubbing but it turned out to be the most beautiful place. I found my one of kind hands made dress in a store called XOXO bridal were the lady hand stitched a heart on the inside of the dress in blue thread. Something she does for all her brides. My mom and myself went to a wholesale flower dealer in Vegas and ordered all the flowers. The night before the wedding we put all the arrangements together for the table. They were huge! Everything I hoped for. My aunt made the cake and cookies and I made the mini peach pies. The tables and my wedding bouquet were form The Front Porch in Overton Nevada (our local flower shop who also does all the arrangement and stuff for Cactus & Lace Weddings). The tables had mustard pheasant feathers and little toys horses I bought on amazon and spray painted Copper. My mom and myself did everything we could ourselves! She did my hair, one of my best friends did my make up and my best friends 10 year old daughter painted my fingers and toes.”
