Tj and Lacey’s wedding is one for the books. Not only is their love story the sweetest, their wedding is filled with so much winter wedding inspiration.
Also- their wedding was something out of a winter wonderland fairy tale!!
As always, we’re gong to leave you with a handful of things we think really are worth mentioning. To be honest, there are so many things we loved from their wedding, but we’ll give you the condensed version.

FROM THE BRIDE
TJ and I met in College Station, TX after a concert while I was in college and TJ was working on a ranch. TJ introduced himself as Lacey (as in Lacey Rawlins off All the Pretty Horses) after I told him my name was Cleopatra (not the best fake name I have come up). He caught my attention when he said Lacey, as I was sure he knew me somehow and was a creeper…not the case at all. We often look back on this day and truly feel like fate is what brought us together. Who thinks they are going to eventually marry someone they meet in a parking lot?
We went on our first date a couple days later. TJ showed up wearing spurs since he had been riding horses all day, but I was convinced he was one of those guys who was trying really hard to play the “cowboy” part. We had no mutual friends and TJ does not have social media, so it was difficult to do any investigating. I was also graduating/moving in a month, so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. However, we did long distance for the following two years and kept going from there.
Proposal:
TJ finally popped the question after exactly 6 years of dating and lots of remarks from me about my biological timeclock. =) We were at my parent’s for the weekend. On the way to church that Sunday morning I had been complaining to him that he was never going to propose and I would have to wait forever. TJ kept saying “just a little while longer.” Even while in church, I was waving my empty ring finger at him. This is really funny to us now. After church my brother and sister-in-law asked me to come outside to take a family picture of them. I could not understand why because it was cold and very windy that day. Then TJ came behind me and got down on one knee. TJ and I are rarely serious with each other. I truly thought he was playing a cruel joke on me until I saw a photographer start snapping pictures of us. I was shaking like crazy and don’t even remember saying yes! He also proposed with a fake ring at first and I didn’t even notice.
Wedding In Estes Park, CO:
TJ grew up in Colorado and we had visited his sister there several years prior. I remember being in Rocky Mountain National Park and thinking to myself that I wanted to marry TJ here one day. I knew it was important to my parents for us to marry in the church, but I wanted to get married in the mountains. That’s when I found St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, a catholic church in the mountains – a happy medium.
Once I saw this church, I couldn’t envision our wedding anywhere else. I never thought we would get married in a snowy winter wonderland. I had hoped for a little snow dust on the tree tops, but what we got was so much better. We ended up with 32 inches of fresh white powder. I could not have planned it better. I feel like the beauty of the day was God’s blessing our marriage and commitment to one another. It was such a fairytale and we still look back at our pictures/video in awe. It was truly the most beautiful day. Seven lucky years later after meeting TJ, I got my husband on November 26, 2019. We are now expecting our first baby in September 2020!
