Here’s some trivia for you: in the mid-west, there’s a fun tradition where guests and wedding party take pit stops at bars from the ceremony to the reception. Unless you’re from the mid-west, this might be news to you (at least it was news to a few of us here at the mag!). None-the-less…we think it ought to be a thing all around the country!! We also think there are some cool ways to coordinate this, so mid-west brides: this one’s for Y O U!!
If you’re planning on participating in this tradition, there are a couple super cool ways you can still keep it coordinated:
1) Have a watercolor ‘map’ included with your invitation that has the bars that you are wanting to go to marked. That way if guests decide they want to stop at the same bars as the wedding party, they know where you’ll be!
2) Make sure your photographer is joining you. This is definitely something that you’ll want to remember!
3) Give the bars your planning on stopping at a heads up! They’ll want to make sure they take care of you properly.
4) Feeling generous and want to pay for drinks for your guests who join (but don’t wanna have to pull out your card…)? Give the bars a call and see if they’ll let you put your card on file. Your guests can put their drinks on your tab! Not feeling overly generous? Put a limit on the tab!
Okay enough suggestions now. Y’all enjoy reading this sweet couples love story and checking out the amazing pictures from their big day!!
THE LOVE STORY
“My husband, Alex, and I met in 2015 when a couple of mutual friends had a shop party. One of them introduced Alex and I and we talked and talked. That connection turned into so much more. We are there for each other at every moment, the amazing moments and the challenging ones. With each other by our side and the “Lord’s” guidance, we count our blessing and look forward to the future together!
My favorite part of our wedding day was our first look. It was raw, emotional and filled with SO SO much happiness! Another favorite of mine was getting to celebrate our special day with with so many of our friends and family. It was truly the best day ever!
Alex and I both love living in a small rural community where we have beautiful sunsets and wide open spaces. We love the simple life of working together; family, friends, and neighbors helping each other out and having each other’s backs. If we are blessed with children they will learn to work hard and to treat everyone with love and respect. We count our blessings every day. We send up a thank you prayer for being raised in the this beautiful country and being brought together.”
