THE LOVE STORY
“Let’s just start by saying, “Go Devils”! Our love story started at ASU where we were neighbors in the dorms. We instantly became friends and spent every day together whether we were studying, going to eat at one of the glorious dining halls, or learning how to drink beer (well, Layne was learning).
From the beginning we meshed so well and had a blast no matter what we were doing. We quickly realized that our friendship would be grounds for a great relationship. Cris had a suspicion that Layne might also have strong feelings for him and decided to take a leap and tell her that he liked her. Judging by Layne’s response with a kiss, Cris felt it was safe to assume she did.
The first official date was on Layne’s birthday and Cris quickly learned the way to Layne’s heart was through her favorite restaurant, Macayos! Can you guess how many times we’ve been since this day? 2 weeks after this date, Cris asked Layne to be his girlfriend after attending his first Lackey Christmas Party on December 27, 2014.
On June 22, 2019, Cris surprised everyone with his proposal on our annual San Diego trip. For some it may not have been glamorous as everyone was in the PJ’s eating pizza after a long day at the beach, but with the whole family there, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
6 years worth of memories later and we’ve graduated, bought our first home, introduced 2 cute pups to our family, and had the wedding of our dreams.”
