It’s been called a modern love story:
I have always been a believer that everything happens for a reason and at just the right time. With a swipe to the right, our perfect timing began September 2017.
Jonny was headed to the mountains for the weekend when we “matched” on Bumble. Talking everyday, we quickly knew we had to meet in person. It took little time to realize we both grew up competing in the Alberta High School Rodeo Association, but our paths never crossed – reassuring me that everything happens for a reason.
Within a week of matching, I drove the 2.5 hours to see him. We had our first date in his kitchen and the rest is history!
Determined to take it slow, we “officially” started dating the following November. By January I had taken a job in Wetaskiwin. Our busy lives quickly became one, our love for horses, roping, riding and dogs made for a quick and easy connection.
When you know, you know. Our love story was not meant to be the slow and steady type. It didn’t take long to know I didn’t want to spend a minute without Jonny by my side. His easy going demeaner matched my wild, he loved me for everything I am and continuously joked that we could never break up, because it would be far too much work to move me out.
After numerous hints and a beautifully hand-crafted ring by Tayte McRae, Jonny got down on one knee in front of his family on December 26, 2019.
Planning our wedding through the pandemic was not easy. We had always planned for a 2021 date but didn’t know how it would look. On August 21, 2021, on my parent’s ranch outside Calgary, in front of our friends and family, I got to marry my best friend.
Complete with our dogs and horses, I now get to ride this adventure called life with the man of my dreams, Jonathan Denham, and I couldn’t be more excited.
