THE LOVE STORY
Garrett and I meet at the San Angelo stock show and rodeo in April of 2019. We danced that night and had a wonderful time together but did not exchange phone numbers. Fast forward to middle of may 2019, and white F-350 with a helicopter trailer hooked up to it pulls up next to me at a HEB gas station. I recognize him but can’t figure out where I met him before. He had the same look on his face and finally ask me if I was at the rodeo the night we danced. I then knew who he was and couldn’t believe I ran into him again. We got to talking and he proceeded to ask for my number and asked if I’d like to go to dinner with him sometime. I Told him I’d like that very much. Later that night he asked if I was free the following night to go to dinner. I told him I was and he told me he’d pick me up at 7 and to pick where to go because he was not from San Angelo and didn’t know any good restaurants. We went to my favorite Mexican restaurant and it just felt so comfortable and right. I’d never met someone I instantly had a connection with, he felt like home. He clearly felt the same way as from that day on we have only spent a handful of days away from each other.
We starred officially dating June 23, 2019 and had a curve ball thrown our way august 4, 2019. We had gotten into a serious accident where I broke 6 vertebrae and had to endure a 6 hour surgery to fuse them together. I was hospitalized for roughly 3 weeks and he stayed with me every night. Reminder we had only been dating 2 months and only known each other for 3. He was my rock through it all, I’d never had someone care for me the way he did in those 3 weeks. I knew then he’d be the man I’d marry and prayed he felt the same way about me. He continue to take care of me after I got released from the hospital by moving me in to his house. I couldn’t believe that love and care he was showing me after such a short amount of time. He continued taking me to all my rehab appointments and doing all the things to make sure I made it back to 100%.
January 1, 2020 I finally heard the 3 sweet words I’d been dying to hear, “I love you”. After the year we had it was so sweet to finally hear he felt the same about me as I did him. Fast forward to a year later he got offered a job in Uvalde Texas and asked me to come with him. I said yes of course because no way was I ever letting the man go. We moved January 2, 2021 and started a new life in Uvalde together. Since the. We have made amazing life long friendships and had the best time building a new life with each other.
October 19, 2021 I planned us a photo shoot to get Christmas card photos. He hates getting photos done and threw little fits allll day about these photos. They finally came and he continued to ask when we would be done taking photos and could leave. Finally I said we were done and we could go. I turned my back to him moving to get our dog when I heard a “hey maci”. I turned around and my heart sank as I saw the man of my dreams on one knee with my dream ring and he asked me to marry him. I was speechless and instantly started bawling. I now get to spend forever with the love of my life and I couldn’t be happier.
