THE LOVE STORY
“Shortly after I graduated college, I interviewed for a job in Carpenter, Wyoming at a dairy. A month later, I packed my stuff and moved 1,200 miles away to start a new life – thinking I’d live life all on my own, I wasn’t looking to date anyone… And then on the first day of work at the dairy, I spent most of the day checking heats with Chantz, the breeder at the dairy.
My first thought of Chantz was “wow he’s kind of a jerk…” Then the next night he asked me to dinner, I was hesitant because I had just moved and wasn’t really looking for a relationship but decided to go. Things were casual for awhile, as always we both ragged on each other at work. Then things started to become more serious.
We decided to move to Canton, Texas in July 2019 to work at a breeding facility and just a few months after moving, we found out we were expecting. As we began to prepare our lives for parenthood, I asked Chantz every day religiously, when we would get married. The answer was always, “soon”. July came and we welcomed our baby girl and soon felt even more love for each other after watching one another become a parent.
Then we packed up the house in Canton, along with 4 week old Bexley and drove 6 hours to the panhandle of Texas so Chantz could manage his brothers feedlot, and I could stay home and raise Bexley.
Shortly after that on a trip back home to Ohio, Chantzproposed to me.
I have always dreamed of a mountain wedding and I was so excited Chantz was on board. I love the fall/rust colors, pampas grass and western style.
Our day was simply amazing. Our venue was gorgeous, seriously the best of the best. Our favorite part of the day was when we finally got to see each other for the first time, as I walked down the aisle. The emotions we felt as we locked eyes were unexplainable. Reading our hand written vows and reminding Chantz in them that “I love you, but I don’t have to like you when we work cattle together” and he made sure to rag on my Alma Mater, THE Ohio State University. One of the funniest moments at the wedding was when Chantz’s brother Dakota made his speech and told us on that very first day I worked at the dairy, a couple of the guys made a bet with each other about how long it would take Chantz to take me on a date. It was 48 hours.”- Bride, Demi.
