THE LOVE STORY
“The story of how we met is best told by Tyler, he was sitting at home on the couch in his underwear, watching Lonesome Dove (for the millionth time), When a mutual friend of ours text him telling him that he needed to make a trip to McCook to meet all of her single nurse friends. He balked at first but mustered up some ambition, put some pants on and made the forty minute drive. To his surprise, “All of the single nurse friends” amount to one single nurse at the bar that night, me. I was unaware of what our mutual friend was plotting.
He likes to end his story by mentioning that I took and wore his cowboy hat that night, and that the rest is history. However, we’ve accomplished so much since that night we met, including getting engaged, blending our families, expanding Tyler’s leatherwork business, Kerchal Leatherworks, purchasing some land, adding on to our barndominium, and getting married!
Our wedding day couldn’t have been any more perfect. From the weather, the wedding party and family that made it all happen, to the amazing photographer and videographer that helped us capture the entire day, we couldn’t have asked for more. It included some very important details for us. The fall ceremony overlooked our land and was officiated by Tyler’s cousin. Laif (Tyler’s son) and Haylie (my daughter) stood beside us as Best Man and Maid of Honor, along with Tyler’s brothers and some of my closest friends. Tyler also surprised me by arranging to have us taken into town via horse drawn wagon, with an inevitable stop by the local bar for a couple of cocktails prior to the reception.
All in all it was the most beautiful and perfect of days, and we thank all of our family and friends for making it all possible.
It just goes to prove, “At every stage of life we make plans, setting out where we want to go and imagining what we will be like when we have “arrived.” But things have a way of turning out not quite as we hoped or expected.”
