THE LOVE STORY
“I had the absolute honour of photographing Nick & Maddie’s wedding, set just outside of Warwick on their own little piece of land, under a beautiful big old tree, beside a paddock of oats that have been a labour of love for Nick. Without a shadow of a doubt, I can safely say that of all the weddings I have been to, which is very close to 200, I have never witnessed such emotion, joy, pride, kindness or love as I did during that hour. Even some of the groomsmen were battling a constant stream of tears. Having postponed their wedding from early July to September allowed them to have the day they had dreamed of with two exceptions. They gained one very special guest, a baby boy growing safe & sound within but they also lost another incredibly special guest with Maddie’s Mum living in New South Wales and unable to get an exemption to attend her daughter’s wedding. Both baby & Maddie’s Mother were included in every aspect of the day, thanks to technology, iphones & iPads, she watched the entire day, from watching Maddiestep into her dress to the ceremony & speeches later in the evening.
Maddie & Nick met 10 years ago and have endured a long distance relationship for a large portion of their relationship so when it finally came time to signing the marriage certificate, Maddie was giddy with excitement, perhaps more so than any other time throughout the day. She was finally, officially married to the man that she once thought was far too good looking to ever notice her. A crazy notion considering Nick could not keep his eyes nor his hands off her from the moment they found each other at 2.30pm last Wednesday.”- Photographer Vicki Miller.
