Holly and Marshalls love story began years ago, when their fathers used to team-rope together when they were kids. Marshall’s father would often visit Holly’s family ranch and rope out there, though the two don’t recall seeing each other in their younger years. This last year, Holly was attending the local Red Bluff Bull and Gelding sale with her family, when they saw Marshall’s family there, whom they hadn’t seen in a few years. After everyone said hello, Holly was about to leave when Marshall’s father was insistent on formally introducing the two of them together. Previously, Marshall had actually found Holly’s Instagram a week prior to meeting at the sale, which in turn gave him the incentive to reach out to her on social media the next day. They happened to run into each other again the next day at the sale, and Holly’s father was insistent on her going to dinner with Marshall. Holly was hesitant at first, but decided to take a chance when Marshall asked her out. One thing led to another, and the two got engaged October 21st, 2021. They were gathering cattle that day and Marshall had previously been up where they were and hung the engagement ring on a tree to avoid suspicion. As soon as they arrived at the tree, Marshall was able to retrieve the ring after dismounting his horse, and got down on one knee to ask her to marry him.
