Our adventure started in April of 2018, we both had been down a broken road to get to where we were
that year. Brandon Wall was born and raised in Santaquin, UT & Dashell (Wayman) Wall was born and
raised in Plain City, UT. We met online, spent a week messaging & talking into early hours of the
morning trying to get to know more about one another, (even though it seemed like we had known each
other for many years already) before meeting each other in person. We decided to meet in Salt Lake
City, UT at the City Creek Center for an afternoon walk, no plans were set other than “Let’s meet and
see where this goes” type of approach. After 4 trips around the city block, we decided to have dinner
and continue our conversation. The Cheesecake Factory just around the corner, as the waiter walked us
to our table, he asked “Are you celebrating anything special this evening?” Brandon quickly replied,
“Yes, it’s our 3 rd Anniversary”. I giggled, grinned from ear to ear and did not correct him or deny it.
Instead, I sent a little prayer hoping we would truly spend our 3 rd Anniversary in this very restaurant. It
was a full house that evening but somehow there were many moments that it felt as if time and the
world had stopped and we were the only one’s there– And that’s when I knew, a love like this doesn’t
cross your path without the grace of Godspeed. We shared over 100 miles of road between us however,
we were not going to let that keep us apart. We spent the weeks doing our daily routine with life, work,
raising kids, figuring out how to co-parent with our previous relations, keep the cowboy spirt alive and
continue on God’s path. The weekdays, weekends and holidays came and went by but that did not
damper or stop our growing love for each other. 2018 was an exceptional year but I wasn’t aware of
what was yet to come in 2019.
In late February 2019, we purchased a lovely piece of property in Genola, UT with plans to build our
dream home and raise our 3 littles. It felt like a dream come true! June 12, 2019, our hay had just been
baled & Brandon had gone out earlier in the day to get the surprise proposal setup. Brandon convinced
me I needed to be in Santaquin as soon as possible that evening for a dinner/appetizer date with some
co-workers. So, I rushed from Ogden to Santaquin that afternoon, trying to ensure I wasn’t late. Once I
arrived, he began to explain that we needed to go out to the property to ensure a water line that had
broken the previous day wasn’t still leaking water. As we approached the proper line, I noticed about 8-
ton bales stacked together. Brandon asked if I would jump out of the truck to get the invoice for hay
cutting fees and then drove off.. He parked and setup a camera to record what was about to happen. I
quickly realized, there was no invoice, but a letter labeled #1 with a note inside and an object to
coincide with his letter that explained a few things along the way. Then I got to bale # 2 with another
letter & another object, all the way up to 8 bales. Each note explained what the intended use was for
each item and why I was going to need it at each bale. Small pack of tissues and the letter explained a
that they were to be used for all the happy tears yet to come. At the last bale he opened one more
letter and began to read it, up to this point I had an idea of what was happening but didn’t want to get
my hopes up. He dropped to one knee, the most beautiful sunset was going on around us, he asked if I
would marry him, at that point our lives changed forever. We spent the greater part of the year learning
to be a blended family, camping, rodeos, RZR trips and planning a wedding. We picked a date and
started planning a wedding. 2020 arrived and we started building a barn to host our upcoming wedding and future use for our family & horses. March surprised us and brought many unknown changes, unanswered questions, many doubts about our upcoming wedding plans. With many vendors and venues closed because of Covid, we decided to continue with our plans and try to make our day as special as it could be with all the restrictions.
On the morning of June 6 th , 2020, rain was in the forecast. We had an outdoor wedding planned, near
Snowbaisn, UT – without a backup plan… With all the challenges leading up to this day we felt beyond
blessed to have our kids, parents, grandparents & siblings all together to share the special day with us.
We said our vows, he kissed the bride, and we captured a few family photos all before it began to rain.
Not just a sprinkle, it was a down pouring right after everyone had made it back to their vehicles. We
spent the rest of the year trying to live with Covid 19 restrictions, but it did not stop us from growing as
a family, traveling the state, camping & loving one another more than we did the day before.
2021 brought new opportunities, light, hope, and lessons learned through the pandemic. We had
planned to celebrate our wedding with family and friends in August. We found our lovely photographer
Kelsee Favero She was absolutely wonderful, kind and very talented. She ended up capturing our family photos, first look/bridals and our wedding all within a few months. We used The Little Things for most of our décor. Angela Lacey was delightful and willing to adjust package items as I requested. The small, remolded horse trailer & whiskey barrels added the perfect touch to our rustic wedding. The bouquet and back drop flowers were designed and created by Brittany & Kyler McPherson.
Through it all, we are blessed and beyond excited to see what the future holds for us, The Wall Family,
party of 5.
