THE LOVE STORY
“Growing up in two rural towns in Northwest Oklahoma, Levi and I both knew of each other in high school. He is 2 years older than me, so when he went to Oklahoma State for college, he became good friends with my big sister. When I went to Stillwater to visit her, Levi was always around. I was quickly drawn to this laid-back, fun-loving cowboy. We became friends and I always enjoyed his company. Unfortunately for him at that time, my big sister wasn’t sure she wanted her guy friend dating her baby sister, who was still in high school. I remember a time where Levi came back home and invited me to go to a roping with him. My sister ended up finding out and we were both in big trouble. Two years later, I also ended up in Stillwater for college. Levi quickly swooped in (and got my big sister’s blessing) and the rest is history. During college, Levi was a ranch hand for a family in Morrison, Ok and learned a lot about the cattle industry while also getting his degree in Agricultural Business. Some of our first dates consisted of checking cattle in the feed truck and star gazing in the back of his pick up on that ranch. We also spent many trips back home riding horses with his family. (He’s still trying to teach me how to rope & ride…very patiently.)

When Levi graduated college, he moved up to Northeast Oklahoma to run cattle with his dad & step mom and work as an ag lender in Southeast Kansas. I headed up to Wichita, Kansas to become a Physician Assistant. Long distance wasn’t fun but I sure loved my study breaks working cattle and driving the tractor on weekends with him.

Almost 8 years after our first date, we are now husband and wife and have moved back home to Northwest Oklahoma to start up our own cattle operation and help with my family’s ranch. Levi is still an Ag Lender and I am working as a PA in a family practice in my hometown. We truly feel like we are living our happily ever after.”
