KIERSTEN + DEVIN | WEDDING
Devin and I (Kiersten) met back in 2017. How it all started was, Kiersten was following a guy named Dalton Silvey on Instagram. Dalton posted a picture of him and Devin at a waterpark. Once I saw that picture, I thought to myself well that guy is very attractive and looks tall I am going to start following him. Meanwhile I am living in Wyoming ( where I was born and raised) and Devin lived in Arkansas where he was born and raised.
We started talking over snapchat and facetime each other and we did this for a year and had not met each other yet. After I worked the Sturgis Bike Rally and made some extra cash. I called Devin and said I am going to get on an airplane and come meet you. Devin and I figured out a good weekend for me to come down and I did in September of 2018. To say the least my family was so scared thinking he was a murder or a sex trafficker. My family was tracking my every move and constantly calling to make sure I was ok. I also packed a taser and mace just in case anything went south.
The day I was flying out to see Devin I was calm and collected and overall excited. When I got off my final plane at XNA (Fayetteville AR) I let Devin know I had landed and was on my way to get my bags. As soon as I got to the stairs to go to baggage claim I stopped and sat there. I wanted to turn around and go get on another plane and go home, but it was 9:30 PM and there were no more flights going out that night. So, I messed around for a little bit then went down the stairs. You could say my heart was pounding and I was sweating bullets because I was so nervous. I looked around and didn’t see him anywhere. He finally came in and I’ll never forget my first impression when he walked in….. OH MY GOSH he is not as tall as I thought he was, and he is so skinny!! At one point I thought I was getting catfished.
I was in Arkansas for 5 days. We went to a bull riding up in Missouri for the weekend and where he was bullfighting at. I got to meet his rodeo family and they made me feel right at home. I remember feeling like I was on cloud 9 being with Devin. He would open the door for me and would hold my hand in the truck and was just overall sweet.
After I had flown back to Wyoming, I was just at aww at how amazing Devin was and how he treated and respected me in a way no other guy has done before. A few weeks went by, and we were still talking until suddenly one day he wasn’t talking to me much and ignoring me. I finally had sent him a text ( according to him the longest text he has ever seen in his life) and just laid everything out on the line and that I wasn’t going to play games with someone 15 hours away. I told him how I felt about him and poured my heart out. He said right then and there I knew “Dev you need to pull your head out, because this girl is the real deal.”
Since then, we had been an item. We would fly every other 3 month to see each other. I would go to Arkansas, or he would come to Wyoming.
In December of 2019 Devin asked me to be his wife when we were taking Christmas pictures for a Christmas card. We set our date for 9/11/2021 in Newcastle Wyoming at the Flying V Lodge.
Come May 2020 I packed up my entire life in Wyoming and moved to Arkansas.
Our wedding day was nothing but perfect! The weather was beautiful and everything from the flowers to the food was amazing.
Today I can still say that Devin is the kindest human being around. He puts himself last before everyone else and will do anything for anyone. He puts me first and like I said in our vows to him “All the hard work you do for me and our future, the kind jesters, and every morning forehead kiss before you go to work do not go unnoticed, I promise.” I could not have asked for a better human being to call my soulmate.
