Ruben + Kelsey | WEDDING
THE LOVE STORY
Ruben and Kelsey met on the 4th of July 2017. Kelsey was on her way to a Randy Rodgers concert with a group of my friends in Lubbock Texas. Ten minutes after she got there it started pouring down rain. They ran inside to let the rain pass, but they ended up canceling the concert. Kelseys best friend from nursing school, Darlene, said she had some friends going to a karaoke bar if we wanted to join. Kelsey decided to go and that’s when Darlene introduced her to her friend Ruben. Darlene ended up dragging Kelsey up on stage to sing karaoke and Ruben recorded the whole thing. Kelsey says she was so embarrassed, so she asked Ruben if she could see how ridiculous she looked in the video. He ended up giving her his number to send her the video. They talked everyday after that night. Ruben became her best friend! The pair have been inseparable ever since!
They talked for about 6 months before Ruban officially asked her to be his girlfriend. They dated for 2 years and during that time they moved into their own place and he taught Kelsey how to two-step. Going out dancing became one of their favorite things to do!
On Father’s Day of 2020 Ruben asked her to marry him in their home in front of both of their families. It was the easiest question she ever had to answer! They spent the next year planning their perfect western wedding. They got married September 18th 2021 at the Kitalou Gin in Lubbock Texas. Now they are both just enjoying their time together with their two dogs, and they can’t wait to start a family together!
