How it all started
Braxton and I met in college at a bible study. We were introduced by some mutual friends and were acquaintances for the next couple of years. Two years later, we started serving together in youth ministry at our church and I loved seeing Braxton selflessly serve others. On our first date, we rode horses and went to Whataburger (I know right, so romantic) and the rest is history. We dated for eleven months before getting engaged. While we were dating, Braxton was so intentional about spending time together. He had two jobs while taking master’s classes but he always prioritized the Lord and prioritized our relationship. Braxton pursued my heart, he encouraged me in everything that I did and loved me unconditionally, flaws and all.
The proposal and the Ring
Braxton proposed in front of both of our families the day that he graduated with his master’s degree in May of 2019. I didn’t see it coming AT ALL. My ring was custom made with our brand and my mother-in-law’s diamond from her wedding ring. It also has James 4:15 engraved on the inside – “‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that’”. Braxton has always said he wants to do “this or that” together, no matter where the Lord takes us. My ring is so special to me, it is something I will always hold close to my heart.
The Big Day
We got married on October 12, 2019. The whole day was a dream come true. Yes, we planned a whole wedding in five months, it was a whirlwind but it was so worth it. Everything from my dress, to the flowers, to watching our families dance the night away was absolutely perfect. Waking up that day knowing I was about to marry the man of my dreams was unlike any feeling I’ve ever had. He was going to be my teammate, my partner, and my person, FOR LIFE!
During our ceremony, our Pastor ordained us ministers in front of our friends and family. It was such a special moment for us. It was a sneak peek into what our future would hold as we started our business as wedding coordinators and officiants.
Since then…
Since our wedding day, we love doing life together every single day. Braxton and I are truly best friends. We are opposites in a lot of ways but we complement each other in the best way. Every day I am so thankful to be his wife. Braxton reminds me every day that I am loved, valued, and cherished. He continues to pursue my heart as we move through life together.
