Dustin and I met when I was in high school and he was in college at Blinn. We both knew of each other but never actually talked or hung out before. He came over to the house a couple of times with my brother and then we soon started talking. I like to put it as, I stole one of my brother’s friends, haha! Fast forward to almost 7 years later when we decided to buy some land and build a house together.
One year later, in October of 2020, Casey proposed back in Branson where we had our first date. Our closest friends were hiding to celebrate with us. We both work in public schools, so we are waiting until the end of the school year to get married and start this new journey together.
We came up on a cow skull that had horns on it that we had been meaning to take back to the house and he asked me to get off and get it. When I picked it up and turned around he was down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” Teary eyed and on cloud 9 (I think) I said YES!
We have been best friends since college. Cole, my fiance is not the most romantic fella and always has complained about cheesy holidays. He surprised the heck out of me when he proposed on Valentine’s Day! We were in the tractor taking a big bale to the bulls, he stopped and I got out to open the gate; it was frozen to the ground! When I turned around he was on his knee with a ring!
