We definitely balance each other out. Cody is very calm and reserved (unless he starts drinking as you can see from the reception photos lol), I am the outgoing, rambunctious one. Now, fast forward to the wedding, I always knew I wanted to get married in my father’s coastal hayfield with the sun setting behind us. We were also able to tie in rustic, southern, and Cajun traditions to create the most perfect day! Surrounded by our friends and family in my father’s hayfield, we were married by my father himself, and able to top it off with a couple of photos at my grandparent’s 100-year-old ranch.
Doing it all together is what has made it all worth it to them.
Matt proposed to Bailey on August 25, 2021. Bailey had been gone for a week visiting her mom in Missouri and had no idea! Matt dressed their daughter in a outfit that said “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?”, and he held her up for Bailey to read. He then got on one knee and popped the question!
After all the choas and the wild turns our lives took we were finally able to come together in Vegas to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. We got married almost exactly 5 years after we met in the city we fell in love. We chose the Valley of Fire for its beauty and the red rocks. The red rocks of Colorado were one of the reasons I fell in love with Colorado the first time I visited. They represent to us the ups and downs of our love and life. Wild and majestic but truly beautiful.
I have to say one of my favorite parts of the day was getting to ride up on my horse and surprise Zack and our guests, and also having our flower girl and ring bearer ride my childhood ponies down the aisle. Dreams do come true! I can’t thank my friends and family enough for helping me plan all of the details, and our awesome Texas photographer, who captured our day so perfectly.
