The Love Story

“Story time, get your popcorn — Hawkins and I met when I was still in high school and he was going to college at the junior college in my town. Over the years, he became great friends with one of my parent’s “honorary kids” and they started coming to work for my dad when we would work cattle. The spring of my senior year of high school Hawkins was working for my dad quite a bit, riding horses, and we became fast friends. When he left for the summer to go back to Idaho, where he is from, we kept in touch and really began to like each other.

My dad offered him a full time job in the fall and when he came back to Texas we started dating right away. The rest is pretty much history. My whole family already loved him and he was the perfect fit for our crazy bunch. I knew I wanted to marry him from the time that we went on our very first date.

We have traveled thousands of miles together going to rodeos. We have laughed until our sides hurt everyday. We have been through trials and we have been through triumphs! But through it all, I couldn’t have asked for someone better to be by my side than Hawkins. He is my best friend and the man that God designed for me. I love him more than I can express and I can’t wait to marry him in July!”
